Two Months! I Think?
March 2, 2020
I am not quite sure when Sean turns two months in February. He was born on December 30, so there isn’t exactly a two-month mark for him. Anyway, he is two months-ish, so I am celebrating by recording my thoughts from the month of February!
Baby milestones: Smiles! Laughs! Cooing! Holding his head up! Kind of getting into a routine!
Describe the month in one word: Rhythm. I started working again this month, so somewhat of a routine has emerged in our lives. Perhaps I will write a separate post on what our day-to-day life looks like right now, but generally speaking, I work in the mornings and hang out with the kids in the afternoon. The baby is kind of starting to get into a routine too! He takes long naps in the mornings and likes cuddles in the afternoon.
Happiest memory: Afternoon naps/snuggles. We have gotten into a pretty nice afternoon routine. The big kids get home from school and after snacks and hanging out with them for a bit, they will often disappear upstairs, downstairs, or behind screens. Sean tends to be neediest in the afternoon/evening, so we will settle in for snuggles and nursing. Sometimes my mom has stayed late in the afternoon to watch the big kids and those snuggles turn into naps with the baby. There is seriously nothing better.
How I am feeling: Pretty good. I am a bit behind on house chores at the moment (grocery list/shopping, finances, etc.), which can sometimes make me feel anxious, but I am trying to roll with it. We have plenty of food in the house that everyone will eat until the weekend. And we have no plans this weekend, so shopping can happen then.
Overall, it has been a good month. I really do enjoy being back in a routine. I thrive on it. I am definitely ready for spring though. I would love those afternoon naps/snuggles to turn into afternoon strolls to the park. The big kids and I both need it—and I think the baby will enjoy it too.
